Introduction |

|
"Continuing Medical Education" consists of educational activities which serve to maintain, develop or increase the knowledge, skills, and professional performance and relationships that a physicians uses to provide services for patients, the public or the profession. |
||||||||
|
The content of the CME is that body of knowledge and skills generally recognized and accepted by the profession as within the basic medical sciences, the discipline of clinical medicine and the provision of healthcare to public. |
||||||||
| In addition all the activities is accredited by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties. | ||||||||

The office of the Continuing Medical Education at Riyadh Care Hospital will facilitate the development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs to meet the changing needs of the physicians, other healthcare professionals, and the communities served. |

| Mission Statement | ||||||||
|
The mission of the Office of Continuing Medical Education is to support the hospital physicians and other healthcare providers to promote lifelong learning through the provision of well designed educational experiences for physicians and other involved in healthcare. The office supports that mission in the following ways: |

1. Enhance and expand scientific and
medical knowledge. 2. Promote best practices in healthcare. 3. Develop skills associated with improved healthcare and health care services. 4. Collaborate with other accrediting bodies to provide continuing education for physicians and allied healthcare professionals. 5. To assess the needs the Health physicians and other clinicians have for on going education and to make those needs known to educators developing programs and activities. 6. To provide evidence-based guidance on constructing activities that maximize the utility of education to increase the awareness and changed behavior. 7. To ensure that educational activities include options that accommodate a variety of different learning styles, preferences and formats. 8. To review the applications for continuing medical education and to ensure that such programs are accredited and approved by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with the approved credit hours. |
