Dept. of Anesthesia at Riyadh Care Hospital is committed to offer patients all types of anaesthesia services with utmost care and professional competence. All Staff are devoted to provide a safe, courteous, confidential and exceptionally high quality practice.
Specialties
The Anesthetist is one of the unknown soldiers. He/she is always found whenever the condition of the patient is very critical; be it in the Emergency Room, in the Operating Room, in the Intensive Care Unit, or in the Labor and Delivery suite.
Anesthetists are usually the first to come and the last to go. They work at the bedside near the patient, resuscitating, relieving pain and re-assuring anxious patients.
Anesthetists always work in a team for the benefits of their patients. For all these reasons, it is not surprising that they are the least appreciated by the public as they meet their patients when they are shocked or sedated and leave when they just wake from their sleep!
Message from the department head
The Anaesthesiologist is the perioperative physician (“peri” meaning “all-around”) who provides medial care to each patient throughout his or her surgical experience. This includes:
-
Evaluating the patient before surgery “pre-operative assessment” and give
anesthesia for patients needing all types of surgery.
-
Intra-operative control of pain and support of life functions.
-
Supervising patient care after surgery “post-operative”.
-
Managing compromised surgical patients in I.C.U.
-
Providing anaesthetic management and relief of labor pains in the obstetric ward.
-
Anaesthesiologists are frequently involved in caring for patients during diagnostic
procedures e.g. radiological imaging or gastrointestinal endoscopies.
