The Department of Internal Medicine is: Dedicated to provide a high quality health care service utilizing a scientific and human approach to patients, based on appropriate clinical investigations and evidence based medical care.
Dedicated to provide a high standard care through courteous, competent and compassionate professionals devoted to optimal clinical outcomes.
Specialties :
- Cardiology:
Cardiology is equipped with modern facilities and state of the art equipment for Echocardiography (transthoracic and transeophageal),Exercise ECG (Stress)and Holter minitoring (to diagnose arythmias) and ambulatory BP monitoring for evaluation of hypertensive patients. Testing & Thalium Test to diagnose (Ischemic Heart Disease) medicine.
- Endocrinology:
Endocrine section offers comprehensive diabetic care. We handle all types of hormonal problems, thyroid and growth disorder.
- Gastroenterology:
It can handle all Gastro-intestinal Emergencies. It offers facilities for liver biopsies, endoscopies (both upper and lower endoscopies) ERCP’s and endoscopic gastrostomies for long term enteral feeding are also available.
- Hematology:
We handle all types of hematologic disorders as anemias, clotting disorders and leukemias. There is a special anticoagulation clinic

Nephrology :
Facilities for emergency and maintenance hemodialysis are available. We have FIFTEEN state of the art dialysis machines, SEVEN in the renal dialysis unit and one machine reserved for ICU. Dialysis for patients with Hep B or C is available on special machines. Kidney biopsies are also done.
- Neurology :
Neurology clinic handles patients with headaches, pain disorders, cerebro vascular accidents, memory disorders, epilepsy, movement disorders, muscular disorders and sensory problems. We have an advanced Neurological lab equipped with computerized electromyography for muscle/nerve function studies and evoked potentials studies. ECG’s and sleep studies can also be done. Support from radiology with a powerful MRI and CT scaners and angiography is also available. We have recently added a Sleep Lab.
- Pulmonary Medicine :
Offers advise on Chronic Diseases of lungs especially Asthma, occupational diseases of lungs, Pneumonias etc. Offers computerized lung functions testing, spirometry and bronchoscopy.
- Psychiatry :
provides psychiatric care using all modalities of psychiatric therapy care is available for inpatients and outpatients. It also provides psychotherapy and social care for the patients and their family.Common diseases handled are:
- Anxiety disorders
- Depressive disorders
- Behavioral disorders and cognitive impairment in dementia of old age.
- Phobic disorders
- Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders.
- Dermatology and Andrology :
Dermatology and Andrology – (including Sexually Transmitted Diseases) provides care for cosmetic skin problems, electrolysis, cryotherapy and other modalities for skin care. It offers facilities for marital testing as well. We have laser treatment of hair removal and for skin treatments.
- Nutrition :
We offer dietary advice on all aspects of nutritionally related diseases, especially Obesity, Diabetes Mellitus, Hyperlipedemia, Coronary Artery Disease, Hypertension, Cholelithiasasis, Renal Failure, Hepatic Failure, etc. Advice on hyperalimentation, enteral formulas, oral feedings for acutely sick patients is also available.
- Rheumatology :
Diagnosis, treatment and management of various Rheumatological disorders including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, Osteorthritis vasculitis, soft tissue rheumatism. Diagnosis and management of osteoporosis.The team comprises of Internist, Physiotherapists, Neurologist and Psychiatrist who provide a joint and integrated effort. We provide the state of art treatment for arthritis.
- Rehabilitation Medicine :
Provides a team dedicated to the rehabilitation of patients with physical disabilities, occupational injuries and strokes or road traffic accidents. The team comprises of Internist, Physiotherapists, Neurologist and Psychiatrist who provide a joint and integrated effort.

Handles all types of occupationally related disorders, injuries and diseases.
- ICU/CCU :
We have a most advanced Intensive Care and Coronary Care Unit where all emergency and life savings facilities area available as artificial pacemakers, mechanical ventilation and other modern facilities for maintaining all aspects of advance life support. We are in the process of replacing all our ventilators with advanced versions. The ICU is a 15-bedded unit which is a well designed, purpose built and capacious unit giving a sense of comfort and space. An experienced team of highly qualified Consultants, specialists Nurses and Technicians, run the unit. ICU includes:
- 21 electric beds with variable position allowance.
- Coloured monitors with advanced technology equipped to handle all
the parameters needed to monitor critically ill patients as Pulse,
Respiration, ECG, Temperature, Blood pressure, Invasive pressure
monitoring (for CVP, Arterial line or swan ganz, etc.) Cardiac output,
SPO2 etc.
- Availability of oxygen, compressed air and suction in wall built-in
circuits.
- Mechanical Ventilators of different types that can allow invasive and
non-invasive ventilation and able to handle all respiratory requirements.
- Dynamaps and pulse oximeters.
- Advance syringe pumps, infusion pumps and nasogatric tube feeding
arrangements.
- Cooling and warming blankets for each bed.
- Portable monitors for transfer of patent to different areas in the
hospital e.g. Radiology Department.
- Temporary pacemakers, transcutaneous and transvenous
- Procedure room with C-arm x-ray with image intensifier for different
procedures.
- Hemodialysis machines for renal failure patients.
