Mission Statement

The Medical Administration is dedicated to provide high quality healthcare in accordance to the established international standards. Ensuring that the hospital is equipped with advanced equipment and technology amalgamated with recruiting highly qualified and competent medical staff is one of the major concern of the department as this will lead to provision of high standard of medical care to patient satisfaction.


Message from the Chief of Medical Staff 

The world is experiencing rapid scientific and technological advancement. This fact contributed to that many nations, government and different societies continuously trying to achieve advancement. Our government under the leadership of the Custodial of the two Holy Mosques has exerted tremendous efforts to have all organizations in all fields (private and public) capable of providing their services at the most modern and advanced standards. This governmental support has provided continuation of prosperities in the healthcare field in the kingdom among other fields. The testimony for this advancement are known. Many of the neighboring countries' citizens are coming to Saudi Arabia to seek specialized healthcare.

Departments under Medical Administration 

There are nine(9) departments under the umbrella of the medical administration. These departments are headed by responsible and competent members of the medical staff who are all well-qualified and experienced in their own field of discipline. These departments are as follows:  

  1. Department of Internal Medicine. Head: Dr. Shahed Omar, Consultant Endocrinologist.
  2. Department of Surgery: Head Dr. Mohammad Khaled Youssef, Consultant Plastic Surgery.
  3. Department of Pedia: Head: Dr. Fath-elrahman Ahmad Ali, Consultant Pediatrician.
  4. Department of Anesthesia. Head: Dr. Ibrahim Talaat Ibrahim, Consultant Anesthesiologist.
  5. Department of Obstetrics & gynecology. Head: Dr. Shahida Shamdeen,
  6. Consultant OB/Gynecologist.
  7. Accident & Emergency Department. Head: Dr. Taha Takroni, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon.
  8. Dental Department.Acting Head: Dr. Hamid Ali. Consultant Dentist/ Oral.
  9. Radiology Department. Head: Dr. Fawaz Skaff, Consultant Radiologist.
  10. Laboratory Department. Head: Dr. Maryam El-Hassan, Consultant Hematologist.
Equipment

    State-of-the-art equipment and technology are available in each department. To name a few are as follows:
  1. We have a 15-bedded Intensive Care Unit which is well-designed, roomy and
  2. highly equipped according to international standards.
  3. Our Cardiology Section is equipped with modern facilities like Echocardiography,
  4. Stress Testing, Holter Monitoring and Nuclear Medicine.
  5. We have a well-equipped Endoscopy unit for liver biopsies, upper and lower
  6. endoscopies, ERCP’s and can handle all gastro-intestinal emergencies.
  7. We've an advanced physiological testing lab for EMG’s, NCS, Evoked potentials
  8. and EEG and pulmonary lab for computerized lung function test, Spirometry and Bronchoscopy.
  9. Our dental department has its own dental lab for making crowns, bridges,
  10. appliances and can also provide cosmetic dentistry.
  11. Our Radiology Department is equipped with MRI, CT-Scan, Gamma Camera Machines, etc.

Credentialing & Privileging Committee


The Credentialing and Privileging Committee is one of the many committees being chaired by the Chief of Medical Staff. This committee is membered by all heads of departments under medical administration, the Director of Manpower and the Quality Improvement Physician (non-voting). The committee meets monthly and its charges are as follows:

  1. To delineate the credentialing and clinical privileging system to be used for each
  2. medical staff appointee.
  3. To develop the relevant policies and procedures for new appointments and promotions.
  4. To follow the duties and responsibilities of the Credentialing committee as
  5. outlined in the medical staff by-laws, rules and regulations.

The Medical Administration


In order for the hospital to be able to provide quality patient care, the hospital promotes the hospital-wide participation in the practices that will lead to the detection, prevention, controlling, and resolving of hospital and community acquired infection. The Chief of Medical Staff chairs this important committee. The purpose of this committee is to plan and maintain an effective infection control program which is designed to systematically monitor, evaluate, and improve the quality of patient care, and the efficiency of the healthcare service rendered in the hospital. The committee meets monthly and the Infection Control Coordinator produces and maintains a climate of communication and teamwork that will motivate all hospital staff to actively participate, in their own way, the infection control program of the hospital.


Quality Improvement Committee

The Chief of Medical Staff also chairs this committee. The purpose of this committee is to plan and maintain an effective Quality Improvement Program, which is designed to systematically monitor, evaluate, improve the quality of patient care, clinical performance, and the efficiency of the healthcare service. The committee reports to the Director General and meets monthly. Some of the major responsibilities of the committee are as follows:

  1. To develop and monitor the purpose, goals and objectives of the department
  2. and review activities, monthly, quarterly and on annual basis.
  3. Reviews and approves the Quality Improvement plan, utilization of resources,
  4. and other quality functions.
  5. Serves as advisory body for all service-specific monitoring and evaluation
  6. activities, hospital-wide.
  7. Ensures communication of information among departments, services and
  8. cpmmittees, as regards to Quality Improvement.
  9. Reviews quality and utilization reports.
  10. To plan orientation, staff development and continuing education for department staff.
  11. To review and ensure compliance with Quality Improvement Standards.
