A patient was brought by an ambulance to the Emergency Department in Riyadh Care Hospital, where he was in critical condition after falling from a height of three floors. On his arrival, the patient was in severe back pain and unable to move his legs. The first aids were immediately performed, with thorough clinical examination was done by a specialized medical team looking for the existence of any head, chest or abdominal injuries, and to determine the location and extent of injury in spinal cord. CT scan and MRI (Magnetic resonance Image) were also done in order to clarify the extent of the injury of the spinal cord and nerves. dislocation of the ninth and tenth dorsal vertebrae with direct pressure on the spinal cord leading to paralysis of the lower limbs with double incontinence (inability to control both defecation and urination). |

Immediate surgical intervention was done under the supervision of Dr. Sherif Fathi Consultant Orthopedic and spine surgery in RCH in order to alleviate the suffering of the patient, and a speedy return to normal as soon as possible, and with the grace of Allah, the surgical operation was done, and the vertebral column was successfully fixed with metal rods and screws after the reduction of the fractures and dislocation to normal position and after the release of spinal cord compression. Thanks to the rapid surgical intervention, the patient could sit immediately after the stability of the spine where this could facilitate to start the required physiotherapy and rehabilitation program, without having to stay in bed for long periods, and thanks be to Allah, the patient could get out of bed and move his lower limbs, and is now under a special program of Physical Therapy. |

Riyadh Care Hospital had Received one of the patients in a deplorable condition where the patient is complaining of high fever and shortness of breathing that led to renal failure and partial hepatic failure, and reduction in the number of red blood cells. The reqired investigations were done immediately, and revealed the presence of lobar pneumonia and acute pleural effusion, a disease known as (Legionnaire's disease). The sample was sent to Biocentia Lab. In Germany to confirm the diagnosis, and the result came back positive.

A patient work in a laboratory of medical supplies had been seriously injured after falling on his back from a high place during practicing of work, and was transferred by ambulance to Riyadh Care Hospital, where he was received by the emergency department, where first aids were done on spot. Clinical examination and investigations revealed a comminuted fracture and dislocation in the twelfth thoracic vertebra with paralysis of the lower limbs and incontinence. After reviewing the result of MRI and CT scan, Dr. Hesham Farhoud - Consultant Orthopaedic and Spine surgery in RCH, decided an immediate surgical intervention to save the life of the patient from permanent paralysis.

The patient was taken to operating room, where the fracture and dislocation of the 12th thoracic vertebra was reduced to its normal location and fixed, together with the release of pressure on the spinal cord. Dr. Farhood said that the grace of Allah with the spot accurate diagnosis and immediate surgical intervention had played a very important role at the speed of patient's recovery. After improvement of the patient's condition, he had been subjected to an intense rehabilitation program to prepare him to restore his normal physical and functional abilities. |

Dr. Qusai Azzawi, who is supervising the case, said that the program was intense, through which we could control the high blood pressure and provide an integrated nutrition program, supported by a highly experienced nursing care to protect the patient from bedsores and to help the patient to regain mobility and walking without assistance. Dr. Azzawi, added that the patient could stand and regain his balance during the performance of the rehabilitation program, which lasted for about 10 weeks after which the patient has got recovery and could go back to his normal life. |

In a press conference following the recent Surgeon Education Symposium at Riyadh Care Hospital (RCH), the American Surgeons International (ASI) lecturing surgeons discussed their arrival to the Joints and Spine Center (JSC) at RCH and the technology and procedures they are providing. |

After outlining the latest medical treatment for child and adult spine deformity patients, Dr. Alexis Shelokov noted the success of the operations performed at the Joints and Spine Center is equal to those performed in America, due to the high quality of care, advanced technology and continuous support and commitment from the American surgeons and staff. The success rate of all of the procedures offered at the JSC is above 94% with a 0% rate of infection and post-operative complications. |

That was done in agreement with the company executing the project "Taroug" Saudi Lebanese Company, in a total cost SR. 278 M and supervising the Bureau of Saudi Engineering Union with about SR 8,5M, for a period of 38 months of implementation in the same current location of RNH. |

The new tower of RNH contains 8 floors with 200 bed capacity. It includes an ICU with 12 bed capacity, in addition to 50 clinics in different medical specialties, 6 OR equipped with up to date high quality medical equipments of international measurements. It is also contains an integrate department of Gynecology & Obstetrics, 10 seats for renal dialysis, in addition to other sections like, laboratories, radiology, Central Sterilization, Medical records, pharmacies, In-patient wards, etc. |

In addition to 2 floors in the basement as a car parking with 400 cars capacity, beside to other floors beside the hospital for cars of hospital employees. The project is considered as a part of the company's plan to modernize and expand the oldest hospitals in Riyadh. |

A contract was signed also for the establishment of the family medicine center and the administrative building as a total cost of SR 27 m, for a period of 18 months of implementation. |

The building of family medicine is located on 2700 m2 surface area, and 5,500 m2 for the building area in Al Rowdah district, east of Riyadh. The center contains 18 clinics in different medical specialties and equipped with high quality most recent medical equipments, in addition to laboratories and radiology depts. and a large pharmacy with all health requirements. The center provides an accommodation for nurses and a basement for car parking of 70 car capacity. |

The third project that had been concluded today is the establishment of the administrative building of NMC company located in Rayan area next to RCH in total area of 2660 m2. the building consists of 3 floors and a basement for car parking, and includes a number of departments: Marketing, Material Management, Finance, Human Resources, IT, and planning management, in order to meet the growth of the company's works and the expansion in different activities and solidification of the company's name as an active member in the national health sector.
