Emergency Department

The Accident & Emergency Dept. is dedicated to provide quality emergency services at all times.  Our staff will meet the needs of the patients by carrying out efficient and timely medical management, which results in optimal patient satisfaction.  All employees are committed to efficient, compassionate, courteous, confidential and an exceptional level of professional practice.

Specialties

The department caters for all emergencies whether is major trauma, medical emergency or ob/gynecological problems.  The department is equipped with a major trauma room which receives an average of 10 patients per month with major injuries and they are dealt with efficiently and promptly by a qualified and experienced team.

We also provide Occupational Hazard Group (OHG) services which receives an average of 80 patients per day with various occupational injuries requiring multidisciplinary services which s provided by the various departments in the hospital.

The A & E Dept. also runs another 3 specialized clinics: 1 medical, 1 Pediatric and 1 Ob/Gyne.  These services are also provided 24 hours a day.  A surgical specialist is also available 24 hours a day providing services as part of the A & E Dept. team.

Equipment & Technology

The department is well supported by highly sophisticated and well-equipped Radiology Dept. and Laboratory.  If the condition of the patient requires an emergency, MRI, CT Scanning, Ultrasound and X-Ray can be done immediately.  We also have the support of a blood bank and Laboratory which provides 24 hours emergency cover.

Message from the department head

The A & E Dept. is a very active and busy department compared to Emergency Room of other hospitals in Riyadh.  We received an average of 250 patients per day with various emergency problems as well as major trauma and major medical emergencies.

The total number of beds in the department is 21 beds.  Two of which reserved for major trauma and one for cardiac monitoring.  

 

Staff List

The AED is run by a team of specialized doctors in Accident & Emergency management and management of critically ill patients.  The department is also run by doctors from other specialties for example: General Surgery, Medicine, Pediatrics, Ob/Gyne.

The nursing staff of the department is equally experienced and specially recruited for A & E Dept.

Other Information

TRIAGING: All patients visiting the AED between 8 AM and 12 MN are triaged and patients who needs immediate attention are taken care of by doctors and nurses.  Less urgent patients are prioritize according to their medical condition and urgency of their illness.  This facilitates streamlining the patients according to their medical condition.
