Radiology Department

The Radiology Department will provide diagnostic services that meet international standards and patients requirements by working as a team and as individuals with professionalism in co-ordination with other departments.

 

Specialties

  1. Ultrasound Scan:

  • High-resolution ultrasound examination of the abdomen and pelvis.

  • Imaging of the superficial structures- thyroid, testis, orbits and musculoskeletal systems.

  • Transcranial, transvaginal and endorectal ultrasounds.

  • OB & GYN ultrasound.

  • Hip ultrasound for congenital dislocation.

  1. Doppler Imaging: Doppler studies for the evaluation of the upper and lower limb vasculature for arteries and veins, carotid circulation, pregnancy, cord and fetal circulation.

  2. Fluoroscopy examination to image:

    • Esophagus, upper GIT and lower GIT comprising of barium swallow, meal, small bowel enema, barium follow through and barium enema.

    • Imaging of the genitourinary tract by IVU, MCU, RGU, cystography, HSG.

    • Evaluation of salivary glands by sialography.

    • Assessment of fistulas.

    • Venogram

    • Myelogram

  3. MRI:

    • Surface coil imaging- breast.

    • MRI angiography

    • Routine MRI of brain, spine, joints-knees, shoulders, ankles, elbows and wrist.

    • MRCP

    • MR arthrography.

       
       
           

  4. CT:

    • CT scanning of brain, spine, chest, abdomen, pelvis and skeletal system.

    • CT pelvimetry.

       
         
           

       

  5. Mammogram and ultrasound of breast for early detection of CA.

     
     

     

     

  6. Nuclear imaging:

    • Thallium studies are done

    • Thyroid scan

    • Bone scan

    • VQ and others

  7. General Radiology :

    • Radiograph of the skeletal system and chest, etc. taken.

    • Tomography techniques are available.

  8. Bone Densitometry: For the diagnosis of osteoporosis.

     
     

     

     

  9. DSA for arteriogram.

  10. Intervention procedures:

    • Trapping-abscess, pleural effusion ascites.

    • Biopsy – FNA.

    • Arthograms.

    • Antegrade pyelogram.

    • Nephrostomy.
