Message from the department head Being providers of a pharmaceutical care, in the Pharmacy Department, plays a pivotal role in the activities of riyadhcare Hospital are proudly to strive to meet patient’s satisfaction. The role of the hospital pharmacist has changed dramatically in the last two decades, from custodian of pharmaceuticals to patient-focused healthcare provider. This is reflected in the development of Clinical Pharmacy Services at riyadhcare Hospital. Through our Clinical Pharmacy Service, the Pharmacy Department aims to maximize the therapeutic benefits of drugs to individual patients whilst minimizing associated risks and respecting patient choice. This is achieved through the safe, effective and economic use of drugs within the hospital. The Ward Pharmacy Service has been progressively extended to cover the majority of wards within the hospital. Many of our pharmacists work full-time at ward level as part of an interdisciplinary approach to improving patient care. The duties of the ward pharmacists include prescription and adverse drug reaction (ADR) monitoring, participation on consultant's ward rounds and counseling individual patients on their medications.
